One of them, Reagan-era Justice Department attorney and Trump’s own former campaign lawyer Joseph diGenova, was furious about the release of his personal data. “I intend to sue the National Archives,” he told USA Today. “They violated the Privacy Act.”

When Hitler was in power and did something stupid, Nazi party members would first seek to blame external groups. When that was implausible, they would instead blame other members and groups within the Nazi party. There was a lot of infighting and finger pointing within the Nazi party because 1) well, first and foremost, it was a kakistocracy, and 2) because Hitler himself could never be blamed. So as a result, Hitler was frequently the victim of “bad counsel,” or his orders weren’t carried out “properly” (even if they were followed precisely).

FYI - It wasn’t just SSNs from people in the 60s and 70s, it was also from people in the 90s who had requested access to the documents.

In my opinion, publishing all the JFK files without any redactions including social security numbers was just based and is something the democrats should have done years ago.

Have problem with it? Direct hatred at the glowies for having audacity to place such info in their documents.

SSNs didn’t always have the super-secret status they do now. When I was in college, they used SSNs as student IDs. It was printed right on all my grade reports. Now, the US government explicitly advised, even back then, not to use SSNs as general identification. But everyone did.

So, it doesn’t take any “audacity” to list SSNs in CIA documents in the 60s. Back then, it couldn’t be used for financial fraud like it is today.

And “glowie”? Really? What are you, twelve?

Ah, learn more about the American system every day.

If a twelve year old is using far-right anti-establishment rhetoric, I would be very concerned.
