In WWII the Canadians had a group of japanese POWs. They did nothing to harm the japanese. The japanese were afraid to enjoy the hospitality, for fear it was a trick. They feared poisoned food. They feared if they relaxed they’d be tortured or killed. Because during WWII times, thats what they’d have done. No tricks, just torture. So they couldn’t comprehend what the fuck the canadians were doing by bringing fresh fruit and fresh cooked meals daily. They didn’t understand why they weren’t being beaten or whipped.

Meanwhile on the battlefield the Canadians were fierce!
