A red button. Image says: ‘Would you press the button?’ [results of pressing the button:] there exists a pill that makes your disability a LOT less debilitating BUT it’s near-impossible to get because the non-disabled enjoy taking the pill for fun and the government doesn’t want them to.
I mean…I guess there would be a stigma attached, but idk anyone who’s a loser enough to really care. Adderall is great for people with debilitating ADHD, and it’s also wonderful as a party drug with relatively few negative side effects (if not abused).
People need to be less dumb, lose the stigma, open up the supply & legalize it…as somebody else said an “adult” with $20 can go buy a handle (1.75L) of alcohol/liquid death with no guard rails, so what exactly are we so scared of, here? People getting the drugs they need? People more alert & honed in at their job? People having lots of fun at a party?! Oh my god, we simply can’t have that. 🙄
Don’t be dumb. Just don’t be dumb, yes, it really is that simple. Legalization will inevitably bring about regulation & moderation.
People are dumb though. And regulations need to account for that.
True, but regulations. Prohibition is the absence of regulation
Nah. Lack of regulations handles that just as well. They can die from stupidity, I don’t care, we need to make stupid fatal again, there’s no way a lot of these mouth breathing fucks could have survived in the wild.
They don’t just hurt themselves though. They damage infrastructure, add hospital workloads, and harass people on public transit
I’m not saying there would not be a difficult adjustment period…Oh wait. Are you suggesting a more direct method?
They wouldn’t just die dude. They’d stick around, forever clogging the system. Some might die, sure, but plenty wouldn’t.
No, I’m mot suggesting a more “direct” solution, because fascism is fuckin awful
Lol. Fascism doesn’t mean genocide, though they are professional associates.
Guess I’m a loser for caring that doctors have refused to treat me unless I go off the ADHD meds then
Doctor’s who don’t suck at treating anything that requires controlled substances are few and far between. Many are ignorant about the actual laws governing scheduled substances so they just try to minimize prescribing any even if it means worse care for the patient.
No, that does not apply to you. You are not the one being critical, imposing a stigma onto others, and refusing care. You are the victim or affected party, not the aggressor causing problems.
It’s like saying…people that mug others on the streets & steal their money are real losers. They should make their own money. I’m not pointing to the person they rob & call them losers. ¯\(°_o)/¯
Ooooh I thanks for clarifying!
As someone who was denied treatment for my ADHD because I am able to hold a job (diagnosed late in life) I’m curious: why on earth would doctors deny treatment the other way around too? That sounds so illogical.
If I’m intruding too much - just dont reply, I understand.
I was denied treatment for ADHD too, because I have a bachelor’s! Old psych said even a high school diploma is impossible for ADHD folks. Glad I was able to switch to a new psych who diagnosed me at 27.
Ok so I have autoimmune hyperthyroidism. This, among other things, gives me low blood pressure and a high heart rate. By ‘refusing to treat me’ I mostly mean that doctors have immediately jumped to the conclusion that my ADHD meds are the one and only cause, refusing further tests. Saying I need to go off the meds and if the symptoms persist I should come back. Even though I know and told them that I’ve had these symptoms for years, and have only been on these meds for half a year. This shows up in my file. I’ve also had a GP refuse to renew my prescription because he, too, thought I couldnt possibly have adhd since I’m educated and employed. I’ve also repeatedly felt like doctors think I’m just drug seeking instead of in actual need of these meds. Like, for example, being told that it’s irresponsible that I take them by a different GP.
That…that never happened did it Homer? (Like for FFS they can see why you have a prescription and it’s not like they’ve never heard of ADD)
