    To be fair, the pensioners only need to install a remote-admin app and click OK on a few dialogs. The nice person calling from Microsoft tech support to help them get rid of their virus can do the rest.

      The easiest way to tell if it’s a Microsoft tech support scam…is they actually called you to assist.

        A lot of the time that’s not how it works though. You know these very suspicious pop-ups telling you that you have a virus and that you should immediately call Microsoft support under the following number?

        Of course you don’t, you use an AdBlocker. But many vulnerable people see it, and they will often call that number.
