I can recommend Fedora, it’s very polished, but it’s the community distro of the American Red Hat Enterprise Linux

If you insist on a European Distro, try OpenSuse

If you change the UI to the newer Tabbed Style it’s a decent replacement. Still inferior in many points, but perfectly usable
