November 1968 -> Merger of Bölkow GmbH and Messerschmitt AG to Messerschmitt-Bölkow GmbH
May 1969 -> Buyout of Hamburger Flugzeugbau GmbH through which the Blohm Family became a major shareholder, thus the name change to Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB)
1989 -> Daimler-Benz daughter DASA ate the MBB
2000 -> DASA merged with the french Aérospatiale-Matra and the spanish CASA to form the EADS – European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (today known as Airbus Group).
So I guess Airbus could start producing under the Messerschmitt Label, in theory at least
Now the brits have to give free the name Messerschmidt and Augsburg can produce beautiful Messerschmidts again!
I mean the Tornado was built (among others) by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (now Airbus) if that helps
