FWIW, apology for failure doesn’t suggest a lack of trying. I think that is the angle most are coming from. People are out there organizing and protesting, but it’s just not enough.

It’s kinda interesting from a German perspective because we also have the deeply engained reflex to signal remorse about our fascist dictator. I can relate to a degree because a lot of the phrases I hear do sound quite familiar. Ultimately it’s not really the same of course. Not much we can do about Hitler at this point.
