My reasoning for Ada being correct is found throughout a huge number of other comments and statements I have made about her, and you found the one that ✨you’re right,✨ doesn’t directly evidence Ada being in the right and instead was written about OP and their experience. :)

In the end, and I am sure you are aware, you pose the wrong question. “Would you be okay with that way of moderating” isn’t the question because it ignores the dynamics of federation. Ada owns the server. If you’re not okay with the moderation, you move servers, and a huge community like 196 has already shown it will move mountains to stay on LBZ.

So, the question OP should ask is “do I care enough about this space to apologize or attempt to make ammends?”

The rule isn’t about discussing anything, the rule is about making directed commentary on the validity of other users’ gender, which serves as a honeypot for more hateful behavior. Ada has been explicit and open about this and Pug is not the first to receive a preemptive ban for off-instance action.
